		<description><![CDATA[Second-hand stores are better. Some of the new editions are crap, I must say. There&#039;s one house that does some very nice editions (Tor?) but there are others that will sell you August Derleth and tell you it&#039;s Lovecraft: be sure to read the small print.

Mind you, some of those stories are real shockers. There&#039;s one book put out under his name that&#039;s really just amateurs&#039; stuff he edited, and it has the single most powerful literary expression of necrophilia you&#039;ll ever see: it&#039;s called The Loved Dead. It also has a typically baroque, overblown Lovecraft story set in Mississippi where the ultimate horror they discover is not that the woman who married into the family is illegitimate...nor that she&#039;s part Deep-One, but rather that she&#039;s ... gasp! shock! horror!... black.]]></description>
