Unfortunately, when you give your software away for free, it’s hard to finance actual sharp-suited (or expensive turtle-necked) marketing people. Linux growth generally doesn’t come from corporate people telling you what to use, it comes from the guy next door saying “Hey, this’ll solve your problem. Oh, and it’s free” (of course, realistically speaking, it’ll give you a dozen new problems in the short term too!).

Oh, and to lucesitam… personally I’d recommend installing Ubuntu Desktop, even if you want to run it as a server. Desktop gives you the ability to do everything you can do in Server, just gives you the option of falling back to a GUI if you want to.
