Srebrenica, the music video

I’ve been meaning to steal this from Samaha for months now. It’s a gorgeous song, a lament for the victims of Srebrenica and Potocari, and is performed by Alma Ferovic.

You can read the translation here.

Also – the song Banyan on her myspace page is AWESOME – that as well is in Bosnian but I can’t make out the lyrics.

Alma and I have actually emailed back and forth since the posting and hopefully soon I’ll have more up in regards to both her and this song …. hopefully before the Srebrenica Memorial Day.

Thanks for posting this, it’s great to see its audience go beyond Bosnians it is also featured as a remix by the Brittish band Fundamental in their All is War album, but I like seeing this version get out there.

That’s very cool, thanks for the info. She’s a real talent, so I’ll check out the other song.

I love this video. It’s so quiet, yet so strong.
