There are certain ways around the blockage, but the Turkish government, which provides most of the internet connections in Turkey, blocks WordPress.com entirely. YouTube as well. The other sites are not, as far as I know, blocked.

What is about that blocking story? Are you sure it is really true?
When I was in Turkey on fall I have had no such problems accessing wordpress, flickr, blogspot etc.
