Augustine (Brr) Blows!

Oh god. I’m so, so sorry for that one. But I had to: it was there. I’ve been hanging around FFE and Archie too much, obviously.

Here is a pretty and unaltered photo of Alaskan volcano Mount Augustine erupting on March 27, 2006.

I get all my news from Twitter nowadays; consequently, I have heard nothing except one guy said he got the “VP” text message from Obama, but right at the end was “wanna hook up?”

Why not submerge the photo in urine and go for that Mapplethorpe-ian motif?

Wow, unaltered? You are sure no one just cracked the Ark of the Covenant up there?

Hadn’t thought of that, but there aren’t many Nazis in Alaska. Still, give Spielberg a ring; you never know what he can do with the idea.

Oh, yeah, and I did get the pun early this morning - you are sentenced to run with scissors

Global cooling in action, thanks to Obama. Whatta guy.

Cooling? What do they teach at those American schools? That’s not how volcanoes work, my friend.

Read up about the eruption of Krakatoa, my friend… You never heard of the year without a summer?

Yep, all that ash up there in the stratosphere deflecting the sunlight bringing rain and destruction down upon us…oh, sorry, got into sort of an apocalyptic groove there…

  17. Posted August 24, 2008 at 7:52 am | Permalink

We could certainly use the rain, and maybe an apocalyptic groove or two. =)

Bunk, I’m old, but I’m not THAT OLD, DAMMIT!

  19. Posted August 24, 2008 at 8:26 am | Permalink

Never said that, but you’re old enough to remember Mt.St.Helens eruption. That one threw up about a cubic mile of stuff in to the atmosphere. I’d guess that Vancouver, the City of World Class Hats, was probably affected, weatherwise or otherwise.

BTW– I had an epiphany today about your moniker. I get it now. =)

Ah, classical education in action . . .
