I can see Checkers for each of you.

I once got offered a tutoring job because I could answer all the questions in Trivial Pursuit. Personally, I think standards for teachers should be a little higher, don’t you?

I too am Boggle – which I have never played. Of course when I read your lede I knew we were in total agreement on the board game issue. I once filled in for someone who’d left a game of Trivial Pursuit (in other words, I was doing the rest of the folks playing a favour), only to have a woman we used to call Fluffy say to me, “Funny you can answer all the questions but you can’t master the mechanics of the game [i.e. remember how many spaces there are between each coloured segment of the Trivial Pursuit pie].”

I was so relieved when someone finally explained to me that Scrabble was a spatial game, not really one that had anything to do with one’s vocabulary or communications skills.
