NetTwits?

Not exactly the most flattering description ever recorded, but then, all of these people are following me on Twitter and therefore their judgement is seriously suspect.

Get your twitter mosaic here.

Hmmm, Sevilla Tapas is following you too, but I don’t see my cute little orange up there.

With this many Friends, your Grace should go into Politics

Isn’ that Jeremy Jacobs? And one looks like Tony Bliar – crikey that IS worrying. Oh well, Elvis lives.

  4. raincoaster says:

Yes, that’s Jeremy Jacobs, but there’s no Tony Blair as far as I know. And Boris still isn’t following me, the bastidge!

Az, you have to realize this isn’t all of them. There are over 1500 people following me on Twitter. I don’t know how it picked these ones to feature.

  5. azahar says:

    1500!!??

Ah well then, I guess I should feel privileged that I showed up in the first line! Btw, will be stealing this…

  6. [...] it’s not as impressive as raincoaster’s, but I think it’s pretty [...]

I look forward to seeing the mosaic.

  8. Good grief. As I commented over at azahar’s place, I don’t really understand twitter or the need for it. But apparently, according to your latest post, there must be a need since people are offering classes in it. But I must own that when I click to the Twitter thing that connects to some of these mosaics, I am just confused by the stream of consciousness. Comments and replies don’t make sense to me, mostly because I don’t understand the context.

If 1500 people follow you, do they all get to comment? Can you block people who are trolls? If you got that many comments, how long does it take to read them?

Well, look at it this way: I’m going to make several hundred dollars this weekend from Twitter, and so is Raul. And how did we do the promotion? Twitter and Facebook.

And two weeks ago we helped raise $4300 for clean water wells in Africa, using Twitter. And it looks like in two weeks I’ll be doing another fundraiser for the Federation of BC Writers. How to publicize? Twitter. How to get donations? Twitter. Newspapers here have such a long cycle that it’s already too late to get in the papers!

It’s much more selective than you seem to think. You only Follow people you want to; there is no way a troll can barge into your Twitter stream. If you see both sides of the conversation because you’re following both people, things become easier, but it’s possible to get used to following just one side. It’s like someone talking on the phone, really.

    Also:

Barack Obama followed me on Twitter, and now he’s president of the United States! Think about it.

  11. valarmorghulis says:

I’d imagine it either picked the most badass among your legion, or just the people you DM or @Reply to a lot.

  12. Good to know my judgment is suspect. I had a feeling it was.

  13. raincoaster says:

Of COURSE it is. Why, just look at your opinion of my homeboy Brian!
