Panorama Palace

So, here’s the new place. Yeah, it’ll be a bit of a change from the Downtown Eastside. Thanks to Madame Metro for the photos of the place upon which I, myself, have not yet laid eyes.

This is the trail that goes directly from the cabin to downtown and beyond, the Kettle Valley Railway trail.

Panorama. Lake to the left. And also to the right. Panorama Palace just off to the right of the centre line.  So, yeah, bit of a change from this.

Even the busy street looks more peaceful than where I live. I’m diggin’ the farm and walking trail.

Best of all, no tall buildings! Those things may be great for housing people, but terrible at housing sanity.

    Great shots!

Thanks. The Downtown Eastside isn’t much more peaceful than anywhere. I think the life expectancy in Syria is higher than it is there.

  3. Cool! I thought that long, straight trail was an old railway line, and it’s the Kettle Valley, to boot. I’d love to hike / bike its length one day.

Once I get unpacked, you’re always welcome, although you may have to sleep out on the deck. The place, as you can see, is teeny, and the basement doesn’t belong to me.

You haven’t seen it yet? Well, I moved to Spain without ever having seen it…

How long does it take to get to the city by bus?

It takes about four and a half hours to drive, but on the bus can be anywhere from about five and a half to (my worst) seventeen on a holiday weekend with bad weather. Fortunately, I have a friend who’s a trucker and I often catch a ride with him, as he does the back and forth pretty much every day.

I expect I’ll be going back and forth pretty frequently, sort of the way I was doing, but in reverse.
