A few questions from a blog idiot
How do you keep the spammers from eating you alive? i\’ve seen blogs with nothing but spam postings.
How do you keep some left wing extremist from posting racist or defamatory rhetoric? and if you cant stop them, what are you legally liabel when they do?
can viruses be posted to blogs?
1) I use Akismet, which rocks. I haven’t checked the spam file in 48 hours, but I just went there and it has 1300 spams that they caught in that time. And only one spam post got through, which I already deleted.
2) I AM a left-wing extremist! You can’t get farther left than communal anarchy! But I don’t find bigotry to be the exclusive province of any particular political school of thought.
You cannot prevent people from speaking their minds, whatever their minds may contain, except by switching off comments entirely or censoring them one by one. I don’t bother: I encourage incendiary postings, because I believe that complacency is a far worse enemy than dialogue, however emotional.
The law is different in different placesl; WordPress is hosted in the US, and US laws apply to WordPress blogs. Recently, the Supreme Court ruled that blog owners are not responsible for the comments on their sites; the authors of those comments are.
3) Yes, but not by anyone but the blog administrator in the case of WordPress blogs. As I understand it, other sites which allow Flash and javascript may be more vulnerable, but it’s not exactly my field or my problem, so I’m not well informed on it.
IMO the vocalizations were well, tame. Apparently those recorded during orgasm live in apartments and are concerned about being heard through the thin adjoining walls or something. I live in the country where we can howl with impunity and I do … believe me I do …. ;)
I found that I couldn’t access really any of the videos from that free website… I had to download and save and open and all that stuff, and it still didn’t work. Wondering if there is anyway to access these free sample videos easier…
