Have you seen this man?

The Scotsman reports that police have reconstructed the face of that most infamous London serial killer. Unfortunately, they don’t report it in such a way as to explain on what basis they reconstructed it, so there is really no way of knowing how accurate this portrait is. “Profiling” is mentioned, but that, unfortunately, wouldn’t give you any more than the information he was a man in his thirties or forties, a loner, white, and probably a Vietnam vet with a fondness for Catcher in the Rye. Useful.
In any case, leather gays and Whitechapel whores are advised to stay indoors for the next few days, just in case.
Obviously they’re profiling. He’s clearly been made to look Hispanic!
Waitasecond–isn’t that Steven Seagal?
No way; Seagal is too fat! I think it’s that guy…you know the guy…from the Law and Order show…?
Benjamin Bratt?
Um, what medication do they have you on?
Perhaps Robert Z’Dar. Now there’s a dude born to play a Star Trek alien.
Sorry–I thought I’d formatted those links to open in new windows.
I thought it was supposed to be Walter Sickart. Now there isa chap with the right name for the job.
Morning MzCoaster
Sickert was the favorite of Patricia Cornwell and virtually nobody else. I, personally, think she’s loopy and dead wrong on this one.
Ever heard of the Canadian abortionist and serial killer Neal Cream? His last words as he was hanged were, “I am Jack the R-“
Frankly I would take this reconstruction with a pinch of salt. These kind of pics (like the ones they make of old skeletons) are at best very approximate. But I guess they give the police something to feel good about.
And congratulations raincoaster for becoming the second top blog today. Keep up the good work.
Thank you. Actually, I am top blog some of the time; it’s pretty dynamic, but I expect it’ll slow to a relatively sane pace soon enough. Who knew that many people were interested in Olbermann? I totally thought this would outpull it.
But yeah, it doesn’t actually appear to be based on anything other than the fact that there’s a tv special coming up and they need a publicity hook. It’s not as if they’re going to take it door to door at this point.
What do you mean top blog ? Top of what .. I wonder if I`m bottom blog , in the whole wrold that would be something. Wierd how i mis spelt SickErts name . Patricia Cornwall is only the latest to suggest him but unlikely really.
Why would you want to rip honest whores when the world is full of estate agents ?
Top blog in terms of hits: Of the 500,000 blogs on WordPress yesterday, I was the most popular.
Estate agents only matter to the bourgeoisie. I’m not bourgeois; I’m too poor. It’s like complaining about the taxes you pay.
Hi there..Have just been reading all the comments re Jack the Ripper. I have not read Patricia Cornwell’s book on purpose as I think it is gross arogance to think she is better than Scotland Yard. Also, she was not the first to come up with her theory. Stephen Knight wrote Jack the Ripper the Final Solution way back in the 80s (I think) pointing the finger at Walter Sickert and the Masons in a Royal cover-up. So I really don’t know how she can get away with claiming to have discovered the identity of “Jack”.
Weird, that dude does look familiar. Spooky.
Cornwell is a legendary egotist. She’s nutty as a granola bar in my opinion. Girl has a way with words, but the ego is just more than I can swallow, and as regular readers know, we’re rather egotistic ourselves around these parts.
What parts, Raincoaster?
All of my parts tempt me to immodesty and egotism. The girl can’t help it!
it looks like freddie mercury , corwells book was intresting, walter sickert was an actor aswell as an artist ,he had an the means to wear an disguise he wanted ….infact he loved dressing up.you cant id a man that never looks the same.
I just had a referral from this post for whichever reason and just as well! Don’t you be dissing Patricia Cornwell!
Agreed, the Jack the Ripper thing was grasping for straws a bit, but apart from that she’s a great author and quite friendly and nice in interviews from what I’ve seen.
[Plus she’s my favourite author]
Quite friendly and nice? She’s a bit of a psycho if you axe me. But to each her own (she IS a good writer, that’s for sure).
I must have read/watched the wrong interviews then! Feel free to link me to psycho stuff though!
It was in Vanity Fair about ten years ago. Something about a stalking case, breaking up a marriage, very twisted stuff.
I’ll have to have a look then. Google, here I come!
