Sales of the Beretta CX4 Storm 9-mm, semi-automatic carbine tripled in the month after Kimveer Gill used one in his infamous shooting rampage at Dawson College in Montreal which left himself and business student Anastasia De Sousa dead.
This is certainly a case that brings out the very best in people. And that’s the very best in these people.
Is it so very wrong to wish that all those additional sales result in suicides?

Hey–Under the New Non-Liberal-Party Conservative Goverment of Canada (Conservative–and did we mention Green™?)™ you have to say:
“Sales of Beretta CX4 defence weapons to law-abiding gun owners increased threefold.”
If you want extra credit you must also add:
“… demonstrating that the New Conservative Economic Plan™ (did we mention it’s Green™?) is working.”
Fear not. With the scrapping of the firearms registry I’m certain only law-abiders, and not evil-doers, are stepping up and purchasing these items. After all, in the end he only killed one person, so it’s hardly a weapon of mass distruction, right?

He just wasn’t very good at manifesting his plan, that’s all. Losers need overkill.
Dear RegenCoaser
What an evil little swine that chlld was
I am so upset at the people (including Miss de Sousa & her family) whom he hurt
What conclusions are to be drawn from the picture of this evil boy’s picture being shewn, instead of his victims & the human debris that this wretch left in his wake
Yr obedt servt

We’ve had this conversation: is having your face and reputation spread around the world a reward? Is notoriety itself reward? It’s not actually something he sought; he wanted victory, not a pointless death having essentially failed. And would international fame as victims be a reward at all? To the extent that Anastasia De Sousa and the other victims are remembered by strangers, let it be for their accomplishments, not for their victimization. De Sousa was active in humanitarian charities and her parents have established a fund at the Montreal Children’s hospital in her memory, to which Vampirefreaks.com have contributed. Let her be remembered for those good things, not for the way in which she died, which was the least self-determined act of the accomplished young woman’s life.
Also, it has been said to the point of failing to register any more that a picture is worth a thousand words. Look at those two pictures together. They tell you many, many stories, many of them important. Do you see those eyes around you? Think about what that means.
Oh no……jesus f christ, story of my life. I was just thinking that dude was sort of hot ’til I scrolled down.
Sheesh.
Yep. And he thought he was sort of hot…sometimes. And sometimes he felt like the second picture; quite a lot of the time.
Yes, one look into those eyes says it all.
Raincoaster, I hope you’ll let me post this on your blog…
To all the sad, lonely, depressed souls out there… I know you’re reading this… please know:
80% of people in this world are amazing human beings with good hearts, genuine kind souls… but often they aren’t talked about… you’re still one of them/us.
The remaining 20% are bad, evil, vengful, filled with anger, self-hatred, etc… and these ppl get all the attention…unfortunately… don’t be a weakling, don’t be like them!
Now this world is NOT fucked up… WHAT IS FUCKED UP IS THAT THAT SMALL PRECENTAGE OF 20% OF THE POPULATION IS THE [LOUDEST] AND GETS THE MOST ATTENTION THAT IS WHY SOME END UP THINKING THE WHOLE SOCIETY IS MESSED UP AND EVIL. IT IS NOT.
Love yourself [first], the rest will fall into place… I promess. If you’re experiencing some sort of depression, get yourself out of the dark hole, it’s YOUR f*cking duty to get yourself out or reach out to get help. Before you say: “no one loves me”; ask yourself,” have “I” ever loved someone”?
If you keep on marinating in your dark thoughts it will only get worse. No one is attracted to a person that looks unhappy with their life or claims to hate others. That vibe will only push ppl away and you all know it.
We all fail at many things, many times in this life but we DON’T become failures, UNTIL we start blaming SOMEONE ELSE.
YOU ARE YOUR OWN MASTER and responsible for your happiness and your unhappiness as well as your actions. Otherwise you might as well self-proclaim yourself a [stupid] puppet. If someone puts you down, it shows their weakness and fear/ignorance, ignore them or put them back in their place in a civilized way, rather than reacting in an equally nasty manner, raise above them, be the bigger and better person, be the example.
I have already mentioned earlier that we are all interconnected and interdependent as a collective/society and may positively or negatively influence others and that remains true, however, to [give] others all power to make you angry or sad would indicate a person is a weak mind and has little or no self love. Work on loving yourself and you’ll be strong. A strong spirit is unbreakable.
Before anyone concludes we as a society are messed up, please get out of your house, get the stupid [badass] frown off your face, smile to yourself, have some freaking optimism, help someone in need, smile to a stranger, go volunteer, do a good deed, do that for [yourself] if at first you don’t see why you should do this for others since you probably think they are a*sholes and undeserving, you’ll feel achieved and happier and remember WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND X10, it doesn’t have to be a huge gesture, go on the effing public bus and give your seat to an elderly… just to see them smile… it’ll make you feel good as well.
Kimveer was simply WEAK. He couldn’t deal with what life was throwing at him… as small as it might have been I suspect although we’ll never know.
He might have been a “good son”, “person”, etc. but what he did is absolutely inexcusable. So he whined and bitched about how certain things were messed up and even though he might have had some good points regarding certain subjects, I ask, what has he done to make it a better place, has HE ever tried to do a good deed, to make a positive change? I suspect he only watched and criticized about things as they were happening… never lifted a finger unless it was to do an evil act… which in the end made HIM worse than all the things he was complaining about.
I’m sick to see that some ppl/blogs/articles make him look like some dark hero. If he had been a hero, he would have SAVED lives… starting with his own… not taken them.
At the end of the day, if ppl felt loved, appreciated, needed, fullfilled… this sh*t wouldn’t be happening.
with love
*my apologies for all the cussing*
You never need to apologize for the swearing at the ol’ raincoaster blog, not a problem.
Gill wasn’t in my opinion weak: he was insane. He was sick in the head and neither he nor anyone near him recognized it or tried to change it.
I love this line:
good to know ;-)
Perhaps he was insane… perhaps he wasn’t… one thing is certain: he choose hatred instead of love(life) and it killed him.
He was weak because he didn’t know how to deal with life and the only way he felt powerful is by holding a gun.
Each time I drive by Dawson and imagine what happened there it still makes me angry. No one has the right to take someone else’s life. No one. Everybody hurts at one point or another in their life but that’s no excuse to want to end your life or other ppl lives.
There is always hope, as long as you’re alive there’s ALWAYS hope.
Amen.
Kimveer gill would have done more damage with a hunting rifle than his beretta cx4 storm 9mm. A hunting rifle is made to kill (bears, moose…ect) a beretta storm cx4 is a SPORTING rifle in 9mm caliber (NOT A ASSAULT WEAPON!!!).Assault weapon are less harmfull than any hunting rifle or gun since they are legislated by geneva convention to wounds rather to kill enemy. Please stop saying that we should ban assault weapon.Should we ban hunting instead??? Thank god K.G. only had a sporting rifle ratheer than a hunting rifle(more damage). If that guy wanted to kill poeple that day, he could of taken his car and drive in a bunch of people outside the school (CIGARETTES SMOKERS) and killed more than 1 person! Human nature is sometime very hard to understand.WE COULD MAKE LAWS FOR EVERY POSSIBLE SITUATION AND STILL HAVE PEOPLE KILLING PEOPLE!
Yes, with all due respect I don’t think the Geneva Conventions had much influence on Kimveer Gill’s use of the assault rifle. Assault rifles, remember, are meant to assault people. That’s what he used it for. And the use of that gun for that purpose in peacetime is definitely against the Geneva Conventions, no? Legality wasn’t something that figured into his choices, except insofar as they made the gun legal to own and legal to load with live ammunition.
The laws I support are the laws that go straight to the heart of the matter and make it illegal to sell those guns in a country that is at peace. After all, how many people can you kill with a hockey stick?
Ridiculous. People were buying it because they had likely already considered a CX4 and were scared the thing would be instantly banned, because firearms are often banned by name in Canada. People buy if they think they won’t be able to get something due to a ban. Nobody thinks Gill is cool or respects his choices.
As for “defense weapon” … it is quite clear to me that the CX4 is a range plinker and little else. It’s a target carbine you can shoot on a range that only permits pistol calibre ammunition. Trying to describe it otherwise is really reaching.
You’re calling an increase of three hundred percent NOT causal? I do have to call bullshit. Certainly there was some of what you’re talking about, but if you read the Goth boards and the nutbar boards (of which there are not a few) you’ll see that people were suddenly turned on to this gun which they didn’t actually know about before.
“It’s a target carbine you can shoot on a range that only permits pistol calibre ammunition. Trying to describe it otherwise is really reaching.”
It’s not reaching so far when you’ve got proof of its fatality in school shooting conditions, is it?
