Did they make cheesecake out of dinosaurs back then? Here is some gratuitous Eighties music and some gratuitous Raquel Welch in a fur bikini shots to start your weekend off right. Never let it be said that I refuse to pander!

  1. Can you ever have enough?

I’ve been trying to send out an email for THREE SOLID DAYS. A pandering Youtube is about all I’m capable of right now. Oh, and if I meet Bill Gates on the road, rest assured I will kill him.

I may detour to Seattle specifically for this purpose.

  2. Oh my – I remember years ago my brother and I stumbled upon this film late night on “Philly 57.” Ever since then we’ve affectionately referred to it as “that movie.”

Yup, this classic right here has attained “that movie” status in our family.

Stop-motion claymation dinosaurs? Could filmmaking get any better? I think the reason I don’t go see many movies anymore is the sheer lack of claymation creatures on display these days.

  3. Raquel Welsh was beautiful and sexy, but for pure silly cheesecake it’s hard to beat Jane Fonda in Barbarella…

  4. Harryhausen was a genius, no question kstaff. For his best work, though, you have to see The Valley of Gwanjii, a classic of the cinema about which I have already blogged. The stegosaurus death scene is not to be believed! Although there are no lesbian cavegirl catfights, it’s true, just gypsies.

Barbarella is another classic. I, myself, prefer the angel, but we all have our different tastes. I’d love to see the original comic as a graphic novel: surely Golden Age Collectibles has a copy? But not in my pricerange, I bet.

I was also fond of Aeon Flux, but the animated series, not the Charlize Theron movie.

  5. I’m not sure whether I should be happy or sad that the Creation Museum apparently has whole exhibits dedicated to this dinosaur on caveman action.

(www.creationmuseum.org- go. You will laugh, you will cry. More or less of either depending on whether you find the dissolvement of the scientific method humorous)

  6. “Triggering the Grand Irrationality?”

Cowering in an obscure corner of the food pyramid

somewhere between the tofu and the unflavored yogurt

contemplating the juxtaposition of intangibles for all you are worth…..

  7. You know, the Chapters bookstore downtown puts the books on grief and mourning right beside the books on cooking with chocolate. At first I thought it was an accident, but then I realized there was a plan…
