Hee hee, good pic. I was never allowed to say I was bored when I was a child. Actually speaking at all was dicing with ridicule or being punished for all time.
Boredom is the root of all evil because you find things to do that Seemed a Good Idea At The Time.
‘As a child I was told “Ever to admit you are bored means you have no internal resources.” I admit now that I have no internal resources, for I am heavy bored.’
I wish I could remember who said that. He was very wise. Wiser than his parents, for sure.
Yeah I was told something similar – ‘being bored shows you have no imagination’
Now I have children I fully understand that it’s an excuse used by parents for Ignoring Your Child. Mine could write a book: ‘Criminal Neglect: Pros and… ?’
My dad had a cure for boredom–chores.
Yep, not to be underestimated.
