No jokes here; just a simple guide to donating 100 lbs of food to the Greater Boston Food Bank, for free.
Go to this post, read it and leave a comment and Tyson Foods will donate 100 lbs of food to the food bank for each comment received. No strings, no coupons, no mailing lists.
Thanks to Beth Kanter for passing this along. I’m cross-posting this at all my blogs today and suggest you do the same.

Thanks for the heads up. They were already at 300 comments when I posted mine (no idea how many are awaiting moderation), so it looks like they will easily fill the truck!

Addendum from their site:
“UPDATE: The first truck was filled in less than two hours. We’ve added another truck to the mix (probably can’t do more than that this time). But if you continue to comment, we’ll donate up to two truckloads of food)”
Excellent! There were only 12 comments when I posted mine. Great to see a for-profit company step up like that!
Yeah, Tyson is pretty top notch when it comes to charity. I know they have donated often to communities in association with Extreme Makeover Home Edition as well.

They should make this national. It’s a great effort.

Done!
This is just wonderful, Rain.
Already re-posted it.
I think everyone in the blogosphere should post it.
Wouldn’t they run out of food though?
Yoiks.
Great call on this one.

Awesome! Done!
Yup, done that, stole this and hope to pass it on.
Second truck was already full when I got there. Nice of Tyson to do this. Makes up a little for their labor practices that probably add to the hunger in the communities where they are.
Yes, with big corporations it’s a matter of compensating for harm done in many cases. Still, I’m not one of those people who will refuse a donation because of the source. I’ll take anybody’s money and encourage other people to do the same.

Girl after my own heart!
I do try.
