I like to think that I’m like the Guy in the Middle, but my Enemies seem to think I’m more like the Guy on the Left

  2. Well I can hardly see your Mac from here. It’s not like your section of the comments has perky little icons or something.

Besides, have you ever asked yourself what would happen if you put on a black mock turtleneck and some tight jeans, and tried to come up with a layout for an OUT magazine cover?

  3. I hate apple, all the DJ’s I work with use them and they almost fit into the group the pic above stereotypes… I’m linux… but I haven’t worn pants that tight since my junior year talent show gig…

  4. I believe the point is comedy, nice one, check out my blog, it’s new and I hope you like it[ed: fight spam! don’t be THAT GUY], btw the Linux users should be a “?” because of the variety of Linux

  5. I would like to learn Ubuntu Server (not desktop). The server edition does not have a desktop and is command prompt based. I am very familiar with Windows and Windows Servers, IIS 5 and IIS 6 as well as with MS-DOS. What I am looking to do is to be able to set up an experimental Linux web server. I have installed Apache on Windows test servers successfully but would like to do so with Linux. How long would it take a typical person with my level of knowledge to learn how to set up and administer a Linux webserver? Thank you.

  6. The only problem with GNU+Linux is , it will soon eatup the market of both Mac and Win. Then Windows will giveup OS business and make potato chips, an Mac making sauce.

  7. Unfortunately, when you give your software away for free, it’s hard to finance actual sharp-suited (or expensive turtle-necked) marketing people. Linux growth generally doesn’t come from corporate people telling you what to use, it comes from the guy next door saying “Hey, this’ll solve your problem. Oh, and it’s free” (of course, realistically speaking, it’ll give you a dozen new problems in the short term too!).

Oh, and to lucesitam… personally I’d recommend installing Ubuntu Desktop, even if you want to run it as a server. Desktop gives you the ability to do everything you can do in Server, just gives you the option of falling back to a GUI if you want to.

[Apologies Raincoaster for turning your blog into a Linux support forum]

  8. Go for it. As you and I both know, they’re not gonna have Steve Jobs looking over his shoulder without some serious help.

Meanwhile, I’m off to play with my new Jesus Phone. The last owner left ALL his mp3’s on it, and he’s got WAY better musical taste than me.
