from Israel with love: the latest update

Israeli antiwar kids, Tel Aviv

Not every Israeli is pro-war, kidlet or grownup. These are some shots from an antiwar protest in Tel Aviv that brought out 2,500 people. They were taken by Nilly Oren, and I found them via Cold Desert.

That flaming flag says “Stop killing civilians.”

There was, apparently, one anti-antiwar protester, and he’s the one that got on tv, bien sur.

But check this out. It says “War is not my language“.
Is that not the coolest t-shirt , like, evah?

War is not my language

  1. According to an anonymous poster on Cold Desert’s blog (for once, an anonymous poster leaves something of value behind!), t-shirts are available on cafepress.com/savebeirut or or http://www.savebeirut.org…for T-Shirts of which 40% price will be donated directly to several aid associations in Lebanon.

Just checked it out — nice Ts, but they aren’t the same as above, instead they say: “Beirut — a city that will not surrender”.

  2. So, is it of value, is it a mistake, or is it a diversion. Unfortunately, we live in a house of mirrors.

Cafepress will most certainly make those shirts if you want them to, though. And if there’s a t-shirt shop in your town, ask them if they can print that. I’ll search around and see if I can get the lettering as a large gif or something, then I can post it and people can download and just use that phototransfer paper that you iron on. It won’t last forever, but hopefully it’ll out last this war.

  3. I love Israel, it was the most beautiful and romantic place I ever been. I just could not get enough of it.

  4. My mother liked Haifa, but she had to beg them not to stamp her passport, as she was going back to Saudi Arabia later and they wouldn’t have let her cross the border with that on her passport.
