Got this off Defamer. Yes, I can see Alan Ginsberg updating Howl just for the occasion. Lindsay Lohan is at least as consistently wasted as William S. Burroughs, although she is better-looking than he ever was and has not yet resorted to dealing. Clock ticking on that one, though.

Who the hell is this Lindsay person? I have no idea, except she keeps showing up in ‘the news’ as getting busted, going to rehab, going to jail. If she’s an actress then I’m surprised that her name means nothing to me – what films has she acted in?
At least William S. Burroughs was talented. Or is? Is he dead yet?
He’s dead. And talented.
Lohan’s not a bad actress, actually; her problem is she’s got the celebutard habits as well, or as somebody said, you can take the coke whore out of Long Island, but you can’t take Long Island out of the coke whore.
She started as a child actress, was in the updated Parent Trap where everybody went nuts for her obvious talent, then did an exploitative series of teen movies like Drama Queen, Herbie ReLoaded, etc, and lately did a lot of pinup shots for GQ and Maxim and also acted in Prairie Home Companion. She’s not a bad singer, either, although the cigarettes are killing her voice.
If I didn’t have an impressionable daughter, I wouldn’t give a hoot. The world is bad enough without famous people showing today’s youth how famous you can be for getting in trouble. I wish these girls could figure out a way to have a good time in private. I feel bad for them, kinda. We all have done some things that would look bad on national TV.
Long live Amanda Bines…

Amanda Bynes doesn’t get much press coverage, though. I wonder if there will be a fatality before the public starts turning away from that kind of behaviour.
Odd, because last time I checked, William S. Burroughs was a novelist of great merit for a guy whose brain was deranged by junk and whose literature works revolutionized writing. Poor Lindsay on the other hand has amounted to very little despite being still alive and kicking and well-known (or I should say, notorious). She reminds me of fashion and music: always a wheel that cannot seem to invent at present.
Right…you need to check again: William S. Burroughs is, in fact, dead. And he was never as pretty as Lohan even when he was alive.
Being pretty doesn’t mean your smart and vice-versa, I know from the experience of high school.
