Weightless, by Erika Janunger

Settle down, class, and pay attention, because you are about to see something breathtakingly beautiful, confoundingly subtle, and stunningly creative.

This is Swedish musician Erika Janunger‘s video/dance/design project for her Master’s degree in interior architecture and furniture design. What happens?

Not much. And everything.

If I have the time, I’ll try to transcribe the lyrics; they don’t seem to be out there anywhere.
But not today.
This video reminded me there are other things to do, other places to be.

  1. that stat counter isn’t an iframe though.
you know what did have iframe? that dohickythingamabob that was a (short lived) work around to get iframe’s on our blogs. it could be done via vod pod. then wordpress asked them to disable the ability of that work around.

i wonder if that short lived capability for those iframes caused that. I’ll find the link in the forum re: those iframes. that wasn’t today. that user tracker thing was today, yes. be back.

  2. But, the guy in your first link is NOT talking about WordPress.com at all. He’s specifically talking about older versions of independent WP. And sure, there are lots of hacks for older versions of WP software. 2.1.1(or is it 2.11?) is the first version that includes all the latest security stuff.

  3. finish reading the thread.

I just looked outside and saw daylight. first thought was wow – it’s still daylight.

then I checked the time. it’s 6:30 am. I never went to bed. it’s tomorrow.

I lose track of time more than anyone I know.

  4. Makes me feel like busting out my Lionel Richtie album, Dancing on the ceiling….

    Very cool video work.

  5. Well, diss, I’m laid up sick, too sick to do support, so hand it off to Mark and see what he says.

Glad you guys liked it. I was stunned when I watched this; it’s ambitious, beautiful, and profound in ways I can’t even articulate, and such an elegant, completely successful piece. I hope it brings her a lot of attention.

Love to see what she could do with Lionel Richie!

PS: An hour after I posted this, I went to Google and googled “Weightless, by Erika Janunger.” The artist’s own website is not on the front page (blame all that fancy Flash, etc on her site) but this post was #1.

Like, wow. Never underestimate the power of WordPress!
