7. On a more experienced note, I have spent a lot of time over the past few years in the Australian Deserts. During the “rainy” season it gets very very humid. After several bouts of the dreaded crotch rot, I now recommend to all newcomers that they at least consider “going commando”.

   Now, on a serious philological matter. I like the synchronicity of PAnties and MAnties. Although Ma and Pa Kettle may not be amused.

   But isn’t there only ONE Australian desert: Australia?

9. Culturally speaking – YES! Geographically there is only one contiguous desert, but it has different names in different places. It helps us to believe that global warming is not going to happen. We are good people and believe what our leader tells us!

10. Can you swim to New Zealand when the sea level rises? Start building the rafts now and just store them on that big red rock.

    A friend of mine told me she was going skiiing in Australia…I tell you, I laughed myself silly!
