A great example of the intrinsic supercoolosity of the underwater world. You’ve probably seen the octopus at the end before, because it was all over the net two years ago (and on Pharyngula last year) but it’s worth watching again. The part with the mating squid explains so much, don’t you think?
Yes, amazing footage… and I love TED.
Me too. I wish I was rich enough to go. Plan B is just to get famous and brilliant enough to be invited to speak there.
It makes me laugh when I see a talk tagged as longwinded… gee, no time today… so if your talk is not amazing, funny, or inspiring, I might give it a miss.
BTW, have you seen Isabel Allende’s talk… and her discovery of why Sophia Loren is still sexy and not old?
I haven’t seen it yet, but it’s on my list. The comments on TED talks are generally more interesting and spelled better than typical YouTube comments, but hers are a bit off the wall. I think it’s just that she’s a chick and those guys kind of lose it in her (virtual) presence.
Wow
It’s a bit of a knockout, eh? I presume I’ve answered the “what is it about squid” questions once and for all.
