Willy Pickton had a point?

mmmmmm-mm good!

Perhaps you’re familiar with the tale of Willy Pickton, the Port Coquitlam pig farmer who picked up and murdered several dozen women from Vancouver’s Downtown EastSide. Perhaps you’ll even recall that I went for coffee with the fellow once and lived to tell the tale.

After he’d killed his victims, he took souvenir parts and the rest he put through the wood chipper, alternately feeding the product to his pigs or packaging it with ground pork and sending it to market as sausage meat. A friend of mine made a quarter of a million dollars from the pork marketing board, who hired him to get the price back up (it had fallen by half).

According to the Japanese sommelier robot, we don’t taste like chicken. We taste like bacon. Or prosciutto.

Well as everyone knows, all journalists are hams.

…when some smart aleck reporter placed his hand in the robot’s omnivorous clanking jaw, he was identified as bacon. A cameraman then tried and was identified as prosciutto.

Absolutely horrifying. Like cows, once robots taste blood, their hunger for human flesh can never be satiated. Japanese unveil robot wine steward [South Coast Today]

  1. Why else did they call it “long pig“?

Given the diet consumed by meat animals, I can’t imagine that a bit of person more or less makes the slightest difference–apart from perhaps adding that soupcon (“soupy taste”) of je ne sais quoi (“I dunno–maybe koi?”).

Besides–in the long run, dead humans make worm food, worms make good soil, soil grows food plants and plants feed animals. So when you say you are what you eat you’re telling nothing but the truth.

Manbeef.com appears to have gone out of business. However, if you wish to, a-hem, cut out the middleman, you could consult these people.

  2. I understand there’s something of a free-range herd in your part of town. Perhaps you could corral a few, earmark them and start a breeding program?

  3. Can’t wait. For the story that is! The drink sounds good though. I’m going away in two weeks for two weeks, when I get back I’ll have lots of wine ready to filter. As my assistant we could double our fun!

  4. The Vancouver Police department is responsible for murder at the Robert Willy Pickton Pig farm. The publication ban and their lengthy delay of an investigation is a cover up of a city rife with corruption, police brutality, abuse of power, and murder. They are the ones who make all the crystal meth in this town. This town is a joke. The police here will walk up to girl they shot in the head twice, brag about it and laugh while she lies homeless and pregnant on the sidewalk. And they think they’re gonna have an Olympics. My ass, if they don’t clean this shit up I will personally see to it that they have one of the biggest media spectacles of conspicuous debauchery ever. The corruption runs from the mayor on down to the beat cop. Every one in this town is in on this little price fix/gentrification scam going on to evict women and men from the Downtown Eastside. From the doctors to the lawyers to cops to the mayor himself everybody is dirty in this little pigsty they call a city. The Police Department is guilty of murder, the doctors here are guilty of mal-practice and the politicians are guilty allowing of it all to happen. There’s a reason why Willy’s farm was called Piggies Palace and it wasn’t because he was raising pigs.
