Safe sex tips for cathouses

I’m sure we can all agree that nowhere on Earth is safe sex quite as important as it is in a cathouse. Finally, the Humane Society of Kentucky has decided to do something about that; they’re bypassing the oft-subservient human staffers and advertising directly to the animals who get the urges.

An advertising campaign by the Kentucky Humane Society to promote a new spaying and neutering clinic uses “edgy” references to sex and condoms in the hopes of drawing public attention — and it appears to be largely succeeding.

Hmmmm. I wonder if, like many a sad-sack lite beer consumer who falls for the bikini-clad capers in the ads but whose life remains profoundly prosaic and bereft of bikini beauties, the poor, innocent yet randy cats and dogs will be left feeling like they’re missing something.

You're going to get WHAT?

the custody battle from hell

This is a dead dog. Just wait for it.Oooooh, this isn’t going to end well.

The short version is:

  • a woman’s dog died at the vet.
  • Someone claiming to be a friend of hers picked it up.
  • Turns out that was no friend; it was her ex-husband.
  • Now she wants the dog back, but he says he’s going to bury it instead, nyeah, nyeah.
  • The charge is larceny.

Thank god some couples don’t have children: they are children.

Photographer Laurens Aaij was awarded the Zilveren Camera 2006 on Monday, an award that recognises the best news photo from the past year.

He took the winning photo at the end of October in the Friesland village of Marrum, where more than a 100 horses were left stranded by flood waters.

The photo, with a white horse in the centre, was described by the jury as a symbol of hope. “Standing proud amid a muddy misery.”

It was judged the best photo from 9,147 entries.

the bitch is back

As loathe as I may be to accede precedence to another, I must, in this case, take a back seat. Why, in God’s name, you may ask? Because we’re talking puppies, that’s why.

The bitch actually went away in the first place. Then she returned.

Heavy. Wasn’t this a plotline in the fourth season? I thought so…
