Star Wars: the Org Chart!

I’m posting in stolen hours between meatspace meetups, so my online time is precious and few, so what you’re gonna get is rare, precious, and probably stolen from somewhere else.

So here’s a chart to help you figure out which Star Wars movie you’re looking at. I’ve seen the first one 15 times, but the rest? Meh. In fact, I think they’re what the word Meh was invented for. So they deserve an org chart:

I still hate money; I love my friends

IF you don’t know what I’m bitching about, read yesterday’s post.

NOW:
Problem has been patched and may be solved shortly: a good friend has loaned me a perfectly adequate Netbook, and I’ve had several offers of help and free cords IF the ones people have happen to fit. And one offer of cold, hard cash that I turned down because…well, I’m stupid.

So tonight I’m going to take detailed pictures of the culprit cord and post them either here or on http://raincoastermedia.com and ask if anyone has any of those they can give me in exchange for a super-duper special prize. Hell if I know what that prize might be, but it’ll be AWESOME, because I’ll owe that person my life, essentially.\\

Was at a party tonight talking to about 300 of my close friends (seriously, it looked like my whole Facebook crowd) and saying “it’ll be so great when I can get online and see my friends.” And I was saying this TO MY FRIENDS. Who were all, like, what am I, chopped liver?

I hate money

And if I ever see any, I’m going to kick its ass.

[currently posting on a Windows 95 machine, Lazarus the Laptop, so named from the number of times it dies and comes back. The power cord for Eve, my marvelous new laptop, has died and although I have five power cords for Windows machines, of course none of them will fit. Reboot has none, Freegeek might have one, but the problem is all my money is in Paypal, and I won’t be able to get my hands on it before Saturday or so, because of course you have to go ONLINE to get money from paypal, and it takes four or five days to move to your bank account once you’ve transferred it. See you in a week?]

[GOD WHY IS IT ALWAYS SOMETHING WITH ME????]

September 11, Still

So there I was doing my ordinary Affiliate linking, when I came across the following, on the ShareASale site, and I thought I’d share it, because it kicks ass. So here it is:

ShareASale will be closed for the day of September 11, 2009, in memory of those lives lost, and to honour the heroes from that morning and thousands of other mornings when peace was chosen over war. The events of September 11, 2001 touched millions of us both here in the United States of America, and abroad. For each life that was stolen, a memory and a legacy was left behind to carry – and for those who carry them, life has changed forever.

Each year, we close our offices today and we encourage others to take this day in rememberance not only of what was lost, but also in celebration of everything that we have in our lives. The families of victims from that morning would give anything to spend one morning with their loved ones, we encourage you to go out and live today to the fullest that you can. Affiliate Marketing can wait until another day.

We will never forget those who lost their lives, or those who gave their lives in the hope of saving another.

Recognizing that there may be urgent situations, although we hope that there are not, we have setup the following.

For urgent needs, Merchants are able to login to their accounts by visiting here: Merchant Login

For urgent needs, Affiliates are able to login to their account here: Affiliate Login

All tracking for transactions will be working as normal today, however, any fees that ShareASale would normally collect will be donated to the International Relief Fund, managed by the Red Cross. Donations to this fund go towards helping the Red Cross assist and aid in tragedies that occur all over the world, and you can add your donation by visiting the Red Cross here.

What did you do today, raincoaster?

funny pictures of cats with captions

What did I do today? Besides this post?

  • raincoaster, caught on film
  • WordCamp Fraser Valley: Creativity and WordPress
  • Happy Birthday to Hugh (Grant)
  • nothing else much, thank god, even though I was supposed to go over to Carinthia’s house and huck bags of earth and rock onto a pickup truck, truck it out to the dump, pay for the right to dump said dirt, and do so, thereupon returning. Given that I seem to have hurt my back, hucking something in the vicinity of 1800 lbs of rocks up onto a truck bed and then down onto the ground was not an activity to which I was looking forward with any great enthusiasm, $20 notwithstanding.

So instead I hung out at Carinthia’s, drank coffee, and made a deal: I’ll go out to her son’s locker in Langley or Ladner or Louisville or one of those L words and pick up the rack of bull moose horns and bring it downtown. In return, she’ll give me the eight-point rack of deer antlers.

So I at least made ONE good deal today!
