the Sodomobile pays a visit to Fred Phelps

Michael Moore and his merry band of fags pay a visit to the homophobiest preacher the US has ever produced. Stolen from here which is a site I got to because Alexa told me someone on that page linked to my blog…which no-one did. The innernet works in mysterious ways.

I’m painting up a sign: “Fred Phelps: Dead, in Heaven, and Astonished to Find Himself Watching Freddy Mercury Live While Sipping Chi-Chis With Rock Hudson”

Probably won’t be long before I get to carry it around at his funeral, by the looks of him.

i expected to get a laugh out of watching this but I was sickened. I have a gay son and I feel so much love for him and so much pride at the wonderful man he is

he went through some tough times at high school and he probably didn’t tell me half of it but at least Sydney is a gay friendly city and one of the best places to live for acceptance of your sexual orientation.

it still shocks me when I hear homophobic comments like those in this clip. such hate. such vitriol.

it’s only midday over here but I think I need a drink. and a hug from my son.

Hey, you raised him in a country that is not like that. That’s the best gift you could have given him.

  4. “headed straight for hell in a faggot’s handbasket?” I’d forgotten about ‘Reverend’ Fred, and I can see why . . . .

    Total closet case, eh?

  6. azahar says:

Definitely protests too much. Do you think he’ll get into trouble for calling the president’s mother a fag?

Oh, and my pingback didn’t work …

They’re showing up at odd times lately. I got one showing up from months ago from your blog. Very strange, but don’t sweat it. I technorati myself regularly, so I generally figure it out even if WordPress doesn’t.

I’m also wondering if a pink Sodomobile is actually a good way to depict how most homosexuals live … it plays on the stereotype that most homophobes are afraid of. Meanwhile, most homosexual guys I know who are ‘of a certain age’ don’t go out clubbing and are quietly enjoying their home life with their partner.

I said a bit more about that here if anyone is interested.

    RIP Mathew Sheppard.

Is it me or does Phelps look a lot like the preacher in Poltergeist?

Well I think that was exactly what Moore wanted to do: not to humanize the gays, but to freak out the Fundies. And he did it pretty darn well. That bus would even raise eyebrows at Pride. Moore’s audience knows gays aren’t what Phelps presents them as, nor are they what Moore presented them as. Two competing stereotypes that show up the ridiculousness of trying to fit people into stereotypes.

Yes, I can see the point in having done it in such an OTT way. Anyhow, you wouldn’t expect less from Michael Moore.

Wow, he sure manages to visit alot of tolerant places. If someone actually PROTESTED at a funeral for someone I cared about, I would be the living shit out of them and not stop until I’ve severely limited their ability to move about and digest food.

    But that’s just me.

I believe they’ve got police protection so they don’t get the beat-down, but at one Marine funeral I heard of the cops were a little late. Good.
