SWF, at least technically, so don’t go reporting me to WordPress as a Mature blog; staff knows that the LAST thing I am is “mature.”
This charming video is neither more nor less than just what I said it was: a video roundup of (nouveau, NextGen, alas) Star Trek O-faces, including the funniest money shot in the history of television.

I always wanted to be a part of Star Trek. Just so long as I was not in a red shirt. Now I’m not so sure – I saw no indications that any of those incidents involved Safe Sex!
Quite so! And one issue Trek has raised is: what constitutes Bestiality? I’d be willing to take a Romuland (hell, that’s totally my TYPE) but no Klingons. I don’t even want to speak to them, not that they could understand what I was saying anyway…
That was wrong on so many levels. LOL. TNG was always my fav. I wish the seasons weren’t so expensive. I’ve only managed to get #1.
On another note: I always thought it was funny that various characters would massage Ferengis’ ears to try to sway them. My wife thought it was f’ed up when I told her what that was about.
“SWF”, not mature, “charming”, you said.
I thought this was a desperate personal ad. And the video really didn’t go very far to clearing up the confusion. I mean, at least two of those faces look like you. You really need to be more clear.
Still, it’s pretty funny. What horrid death do you think happens to a redshirt after the 3-way?
Nobody knows what Metro’s face looks like, because he always wears the gimp mask.
How many times do I have to tell you? You were drunk and I wasn’t even in town that night. Hell, if those kindly cops hadn’t pulled you off that mannequin, Val’s Leatherware Emporium probably would have sued you for disrupting trade.
Are you kidding me? I’m still cashing commission cheques.
Yeah, from the Meese Commission maybe.
That was way too funny!
PS: An important announcement from a fellow blogger, please read and post. :)
Note from raincoaster: the following is largely incorrect. If you want a soapbox, you’ve got a blog. Use it. I’m tempted to delete it altogether, but on the off-chance it’ll start a flamewar, I’ll leave it for now.
“If” your blog gets marked as a “mature” blog new readers won’t be able to find your new posts via tags or search engines. You’ll be lost to new readership. “Mature” doesn’t mean “bad” it just means not for kids (at the minimum). If you have a suggestion for WordPress to fix this form of censorship you can submit it here:
http://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum.php?id=1
Scroll to the bottom, topic = mature blogs, you fill in the body, tags = mature blogs, and suggestions.
My suggestions were to make it like over at YouTube where they have a page pop up warning of “mature” content, and if you’re still interested, they sign up and say “let me in” and boom, you’re in there.
The other idea is to make it a toggle switch in the dashboard, kind of like what Google has. If you don’t want your results to be filtered, you turn the filter off. It’s as easy as that.
If you have any better ideas, let them know, or feel free to copy and paste my idea, and send it to WordPress, or just tell them “something” should be done. The point is, the more people they hear from, the better it will be for everyone, bloggers and readers alike.
Thank you for your time, and I hope your cooperatioin.
You are wrong, as I pointed out in that thread. Please do not use my blog for your soapbox in future.
Why is this donkey braying here in your blog?
If he/she has issue with wp.com management and staff then why on earth isn’t he or she taking care of their business with them? Can’t he/she find Matt’s blog? Doesn’t he or she know how to email staff? support[at]wordpress[dot]com
The forum searchbox is full of “what constitutes mature” threads and Google has all the posts listed. If his or her readers can’t do Google searches using the blogger’s choice of tags like I did then IMO they must be hopelessly technologically challenged.
The idiot is no doubt doing Google searches for a Mature blog with the Safe Search on. Duh.
I checked out the blog and followed links. Could it be that this person has staged a drama in the forum simply to promote his or her blog? Maybe so because by following the links I arrived on another blog and that had a lengthy post extolling the drama queen/king’s blog.
Please read and delete this, but please read it first.
The only reason I sent the comment I did to you here is because you were the featured post under the sex tag (I did the same for everyone under that tag within 24 hrs of that moment) with a rather provocative (some might say) video. You weren’t targeted because of who you are. You say my comment was largely incorrect, but only site one inconsistency in the thread:
http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=21630&replies=18#post-163105
Why shot down an otherwise accurate and positive statement due to one misunderstanding on my part? The search engine theory came from a general search (filter off) and I couldn’t find my post, where as I was able to before the “mature” listing. I was wrong and point this out in my latest post. If I were trying to promote my blog there are much better ways. All this has done is give me a head ache, being badgered by the help, referred to as dumb and other unfriendly references. I truly just want to see something done to make WordPress a better place for bloggers and readers alike. Surely you can see sincerity in that. If not, I’m sorry to have bothered you again. I don’t plan on darkening your doorway again. Take care.

PS/FYI Your video is more “mature” than anything I ever had on my blog, not that I have a problem with it. Just saying… I was a happy blogger up until a week or so ago. :( I’ll be posting a list of suggestions that I sent to support today on my blog (tomorrow) if you’d like to check it out. Anyway, thank you for your time.
Thank you. See, now that is a comment I can get behind.
I just have a severe allergic reaction to other people using my blog as a soapbox, particularly when it’s a copy/paste job. See this thread:
See how I went off on her? And that woman is a FRIEND of mine.
If people comment on your blog and then post about the issue on their own, that’s certainly entering the conversation and posting comments there is appropriate. IF they are original. People get upset when it’s a hijack, however well-intentioned. I mean, for awhile Patty Hearst really DID want to liberate the Symbionese, didn’t she? But we couldn’t let her.
Anyway, I wish you well with the whole Mature blog thing. I agree WP.com could do more for them, and an independent global tag system seems like a good idea. I can understand from staff’s perspective that if you facilitate Mature blogs, you’re going to increase the number of blogs that cross the line of legality, and if you offer the SEO benefits of global tag pages, you’re going to be the #1 destination for porn bloggers, legal and illegal. I think they just don’t want the potential hassle.
Failure to promote isn’t censorship, but getting listed as a Mature blog when you’re not is certainly a pain in the ass. I’ve been flagged as Mature at least once (I think more) and simply annoyed staff till they took another look, whereupon they agreed it wasn’t and took the Mature status off. It IS appeal-able. Good luck!
