What did you do today, raincoaster?

what would Johnny Cash do

and for a contrasting point of view, check out BoingBoing’s What Would a Unicorn Do?

Sadly, I blew off the chance for a gorgeous walk on a rare, perfect afternoon to get to the office so I could delete a post from Buzzfeed, because of a misunderstanding on my part about that whole “right to post the image” thang. And of course, once there I’m in for life. So what did I do today?

A mere ten posts:

I posted:

  1. Surf the Net Like a Pro (a little allegorical commentary to some internet drama)

  2. Twitter/Art + Social Media at Diane Farris Gallery call for artists

  10. Certify Courtney
    http://www.offsitedatabackup.com/blog/index.php/2010/03/certify-courtney/

Invoiced for two different corporate blogs (yay, my favorite i-word!), loaded up the Jesusphone with no fewer than 30 workout podcasts, managed to finally transfer some of my GOOD music from CD to the Jesusphone (Jesus, apparently, has a problem with Trent Reznor!), drank my RDA of water for once, passed along some SUPER job opportunities at Pixar Vancouver (human cannonball? I wonder what that pays), followed up with some admin stuff for the Social Media Club YVR meeting on Thursday the 18th,

and then there’s this:

Yeah, you could say that.

Deets:

You might enjoy the high level of emotional drama today because the expression of feelings touches something that resonates very deeply for you. Whether you are reminded of a past life or a past decade, it’s crucial that you relate your memories to what is unfolding in the present moment and not what happened previously. Everything will be somewhat easier once you realize the power of now.

No, everything will be somewhat easier once I realize the power of kicking ass and taking names. Trust.

Surf the Net like a pro!

marriedtothesea.com

Oh come on, man. Get a grip on yourself.

That also (for no particular reason) reminds me of this post:
Everything That’s Wrong With Pop Culture in Two Photos

Yep, that’s about the whole of it. There’s a metaphor in there somewhere. Maybe this one?

there's a metaphor in here somewhere

But it’s fine. Really.

I'm from the internet

Sadly, ultimately I do not think this will end well. It never does. Remember that blythe surfer at the start?

This Too Shall Pass

Kris Krug and Johnny Weir Cute Couple Gold Medal Winners

OK Go wasn’t talking about my hangover, but they SHOULD have been. Yay, Canada! We won the hockey! We won the most gold medals of any nation ever in the winter Olympics! We owned the podium! And Kris nearly got a date with Johnny Weir!

Yay us! And pass the aspirin.

Until my liver has recovered and the marching band in my head has packed up and left, here’s a cute video to entertain yourselves with:

Also? That looks SOMETHING like my living room, right down to the wrecked police car.

Andrew Koenig Update

I posted about the finding of Andrew Koenig’s body over on True/Slant. Have you seen the press conference with his parents? Tragic. His father is completely broken up over it, but he and his wife still found the time and the strength to counsel others who have depressed relatives.

His parents

And here’s an online depression screening from the Mayo Clinic that Pete Quily passed along.

Squidkreig!

Vampire Squid

The Giant Squid has many secrets, some speakable, some unspeakable. But they may be as nothing compared to what we have found out about the hitherto-thought-to-be-entirely-or-at-least-in-all-likelihood-harmless Vampire Squid. Simpletons! You ask me why I have a “thing” about Squid.

I tell you I am your safeguard. If not for this warning, how would you ever know?

First they came for the Krill, and I said nothing…then they stayed for dessert…where was I?
