    Canuck through’n'through!

  2. Woo HOO! Way to go Canadians! Some of the slang I had never heard of (bunnyhug?) … but I loved the photos … Mr. Dress-up, Degrassi, Kids in the Hall! Hilarious!

I’m still getting over the fact that Tinkerbell is dead and I clapped my hands and everything :-(
    Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

No photos of The Friendly Giant or Chez Helene though … oops, is that my age showing?

  5. raincoaster says:

True. I looked for Chez Helene on YouTube but couldn’t find her anywhere. One of my fondest memories was babysitting in the last days of the Friendly Giant and at one point Friendly says, “So Rusty, why don’t you ever invite Gerome over to visit you?” and Geromelooks at Rusty and says, “Well he’s asked me to come up and see him sometime, but I’m not sure I’d fit in his little hole,” and Friendly froze, speechless. Cut to the kittens playing chamber music…

  6. HAAAAA!!! That’s hilarious!
I remember Friendly Giant! I don’t remember Chez Helene. Do you remember the old Degrassis? My friend had a crush on Wheels. At least I had taste …. I like Joey Jeremiah.

  7. 64 percent – if I was shot down over Calgary, I could at least walk the streets and pretend I was mute

  8. azahar says:

The main thing I remember about Chez Helene was that it was so fucking boring!!!! – and that even as a small child I wanted to throttle little Suzie Mouse.

Used to love The Friendly Giant though, especially the ever sarcastic Jerome the Giraffe. And the cat musicians. Apparently that programme ran for 26 years!

    The Friendly Giant

I loved Chez Helene, in fact I had a poodle puppet I named Wee Petite. Helene took no crap; I think of her as a Francophone Margaret Thatcher, but with a heart.

What annoyed me were those bloody kittens. Cute overload!
