on the difference between flying lizards, purse rats, and the higher life forms

Here you go, bird enthusiasts: absolute proof of the difference between highly evolved, sophisticated life forms and your inferior little pets. Check out that music selection!

And here’s more or less the same thing, with a Purse Rat.

Dancing Kitten Unicorn Chaser

By now, all our loyal readers should be familiar with the concept of the Unicorn Chaser. And, after the last 48 hours, I dunno about you, but I could sure use one. Here, therefore and thereunto and tho on, is a unicorn chaser composed of synchronized, dancing Burmese kittens. Or maybe Himilayan kittens. I dunno, I’m sure some undersocialized Metafilterite will be along shortly with the correct answer.

Partying with raincoaster

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is raincoaster herself, in the flesh (or at least in the disguise my alien leaders gave me when I undertook this mission – but enough of that!). This was last week’s Yaletown Tweetup at Capone’s with Hummingbird604, GreggScott, GusF (in the video), GusF’s partner who shall remain nameless till he tells me it’s okay to use his real name, Shahee of Tribalglobe.com, and our cameraman, the mysterious, multilingual TheDarkerSide.

But I feel that if they really want to sell the product in this secular age, what they ought to do is to re-do some of the liturgical music in popular song forms. I have a modest example here. It’s called The Vatican Rag…

Hockey Night in…Marseilles?

Here’s another whackadoodle video by my favorite Frenchman since Rousseau, Remi Gaillard. While he is, obviously, French and does not enjoy the cultural bounty of a natural-born Canuckistani, it’s quite clear that he understands what fans the world over love best about hockey, and he understands it in a deep, visceral way.

I soooooo want to do this! Who’s in?
